The big day

I was so nervous my hands were almost trembling! I hadn’t imagined the physiological reaction to resigning my job would be so severe! Why was it so hard to reject some one? Was I ready to leave? Did I care still have feelings for my job? Did they have feelings for me? Anyway I’ll stop comparing it to a break up! My manager picked it up right away with her extra sensitive (sometimes paranoia) aerial and knew I was about to dish-out bad news. Not fully comprehending my letter about seeking new challenges, she even showed my value to the company by not announcing my departure at team meeting because she simply couldn’t accept my letter. In return I convinced her in our later private discussion that my real motives for leaving had nothing to do with conflicts between myself or any staff, bad working conditions, peanuts as salary etc.
