Weekends of Joy
Friday is a day that can be as unpredictable as walking past a poodle on a leash. Why? You go along your usual pathway of being exceptionally normal – normal tired that is, and then a peak reaches near midway when you spot that fluffy canine in the pink dress. Curiosity beckons and Friday no longer feels boring and strained. Something as cute and small (as it seems anyway) suddenly starts to bark fanatically at your attention. WORK. WORK. WORK as the ferocious little demon nips at your rear!!- “Finish it or you won’t have a good weekend!” As much as you can deny, it’s utterly disgusting comparing the cross-over between looking forward to the weekend (seeing that interesting poodle), to the responsibility of finishing the project you are on (biting you in the bum). However the aftermath is usually pretty pleasant – you breathe a sense of relief as the barking ceases, and you can settle to some wind-down socializing with co-workers (open that cask of red now!).
Saturdays are beautiful with a capital B – apart from catching up with indecent dirty toilet and bathroom, piles of unclean clothes, and crumbs surrounding your desk (which is also the freelance office if you would accept) – some down-time indulging in yum cha Dim Sim (dumplings filled with real meat and seafood) with a lover, and then polishing the laid-back day by catching a new movie at Readings Cinema is good for the soul. Saturday nights? More red wine complimented by several hot sizzling plates of Chinese cuisine at your favourite Asian restaurant – Golden Boat at Hornby.
Well Sundays are normally fairly relaxed too with more sleep and home dining. Unfortunately because of the short proximity to Monday and my computer, it could also mean catching up and cleaning up XHTML codes for clients and invoicing too – a delightful task too if the final account has more than 3 digits before the decimal. In the evening, you can give the love back by purifying your man’s pores by maintaining a strict regime of facial massage and exfoliating. BTW, don’t tell him you enjoy it, or more importantly don’t tell others that HE enjoys it.
