I'm learning Salsa!

Just had our second ‘first’ class tonight!! Mat and I decided we’d continue our new found love of dancing after a brief romance with it last term before our Hong Kong holiday (we enrolled before we booked and then had to miss the 2nd and 3rd classes which were the most crucial ones!). And so we decided to take the next term and we are glad we did! Tonight began light and simple, and once we started to turn and side-step it got a little more complicated. Apparently, even though I played the female part I was trying to ‘lead’ – man’s job! It was certainly the light of the day!

After being a little sick this weekend and coming back to my PT job I realised IT had been into my computer and not only caused havoc on the design programs but taken fonts, Firefox and my privileges to control little things like screen-savers and desktop images. Even my email didn’t work as their proxy servers had everything denied from Internet Banking to anything with a ‘mail’ log in form. No more emails at work, rats… I’m not sure if this classifies as being micro-managed but it certainly was a shock, especially when I think Firefox is one of the most user-friendly and goddamn good-looking web browsers around (compared to my IE 6 anyway!). No offence to IE, you know I would like IE 7 but Windows 2000 only works with the older version.

This entry is getting a little naggy, sorry I do hope the situation gets better! Good news is I’m on the hunt for a long term career goal for myself. You know, one of those moments in life where you say to yourself – I’ve tried this many things, and I think I know what I like, so I’m gonna find something and do it for the long haul. C O M M I T M E N T – I think I’m ready…
