Dear Mother virus!

I’ve been having lots of fun with this demonic PC, not. The system is great, XP is working like a PRO (as it should) and programs operations are lightening fast. Well, everything apart from the Internet connection. Last night my man and I tried to connect and use the internet for about 3 hours with no success. The modem connects initially but as time increases FireFox stops downloading any web pages to view. Occasionally panels about Windows errors are popping up so my PC isn’t looking healthy. So today I called my trusty computer guru Ryan, and thankfully he said it didn’t sound like a hardware problem (I DID NOT want to go back to Dragon PC for the fourth time!) and more likely to be Spyware or a virus. I downloaded AVG Anti-virus and Agnitum Outpost Firewall from my Imac and ran the Freeware on my sick PC. Sure enough it picked up lots of ‘critical items’, and a nasty ‘Trojan Horse’. Am I the only designer that is naïve about security issues with regards to the internet? I was even more shocked to learn the truth behind my slow internet connection was because something was using nearly all of my bandwidth by sending and receiving data as soon as I connected! How rude!
